Power on your hands
Exodus 8:19 – “Finger of God”
Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the LORD had said.
●Your hands are important
•They can be used to heal people by the laying of hands
•They can be used to baptize people
•God wants to give power to your hands
●Luke 11:20 “But if I drive out demons by the finger of God “
○So hands are very important
●FEET
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation
●God wants to empower your FEET !
●Ephesians 6:15
For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 15 and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.
■The Holy Spirit will enable you to go from one place to another, from one village to another, from state to state and from country to country with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
■BELLY
●John 7:38 KJV
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
●So now we see that power will be given to your hands, feet, belly
●●So God wants to use your whole body!!
■It is seen again in Acts 2:17
It will come to pass in the last days,’ God says, ‘that I will pour out a portion of my spirit upon all flesh
●So God will pour out his spirit on your whole body
Romans chapter 6

       ANOINTING

●Another very important truth associated with the Holy Spirit is the anointing of the Holy Spirit
●Anointing of the Holy Spirit means special empowerment by the Holy Spirit.
●The Holy Spirit empowers you to fulfill your spiritual responsibilities,
●People have different spiritual responsibilities in the kingdom of God.
●Holy Spirit empowers you to fulfil them
■ EMPOWERMENT- PROTECTION- BLESSING

●”Chrisa” and “Chrisma” are the greek words for anointing . From this word comes “Christos “- Christ !!
●Christ means the anointed one
■The Hebrew term for Christ is Messiah, which means the anointed one
■The word ” Christian ” signifies an anointed one belonging to Christ.
○•In the Old Testament- Anoint,” In Hebrew is ” Masah” means to smear, to rub with oil ,or to cover you with liquid
■When you consider the occupation of people in the Old Testament times , they were mostly shepherds – and many terms used to describe come from their occupation. A major example of this is the word “anointing “
■In Psalms 23, “thou anointest my head with oil”
” The Lord is my “Shepherd “
■Shepherds anoint the sheep’s heads with oil
■ Sheep can get their head caught in briers and die trying to get untangled. There are horrid little flies that will torment the sheep by laying eggs in their nostrils, which would later turn into worms and drive the sheep to beat their head against a rock, sometimes to death
Their ears and eyes are also susceptible to tormenting insects.
So the shepherd anoints their whole head with oil…then there is peace.
“That oil forms a barrier of protection against the evil that tries to destroy the sheep.

■So the word anointing is from their occupation!
●Genisis 31:13 I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me:
●Exodus 29:7 Take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head.
●Here, it talks about priestly anointing
●In the Old Testament, Oil was used to anoint, priest ,Kings ,and Prophets
■1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward
■In the New Testament, this anointing happens spiritually – no physical pouring is required,
■Holy Spirit empowers us to fulfill responsibility.

■Gift= ability
Calling = Identity
■Anointing = Purpose

■Christ stands for the “Anointed one “
●3 passages describing Christ’s anointing
■1.Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.”
■Acts 4:27 for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,
■Acts 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.”
●Jesus Christ was “THE” Anointed one
So we are the anointed “ones” who belong to Christ.
