Acts Chapter 1:8 And you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you
●Power in the Greek language is Dunamis
●Exousia stands for delegated authority
●Dunamis can be used both for power and also for miracles. Both usages are present in the New Testament
■Power and Body
When your soul is saturated with the Holy Spirit, you will start speaking in tounges
▪︎Your body will be filled with power
●Acts 2:17 “upon all flesh”
•When the Holy Spirit decends on your body, you will receive power
●In earthly ministry, if you want to do something, you definitely need a body to do so !
•so on this earth ,a physical body is needed to function
▪︎spirits can’t function by themselves
-it’s human beings who give them rights, and this allows them to function
●No one can function on the face of this earth without a body
●Both Holy Spirit and demonic spirits need a body to function,
1 Corinthians 6: 19 Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit
●1 Corinthians 3:16,17
●Remember, your body is owned by Jesus Christ
●You were brought at a price
▪︎That price was the Blood of Jesus Christ. That’s the importance!
•Those who are in Christ, their bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit
●Samson is- an example in the Old Testament about power manifesting in the bodies of men
● You can do very limited things with the physical strength you have
●Judges 16:3
●But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, do things that can be called supernatural, physically
●This relates to something that can’t normally be done by human strength
●Judges 15 :14-15
●Here, what is done is merely due to supernatural strength manifesting on a person
●Samson killed 1000 people with a bone
●Experiencing power-power will be manifested in your body
●When power comes on your body– you can infact use this power to bring your body under the subjection of the Spirit.
●Romans 6:13 “neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
●Sin will not have dominion over you
■ Sin enters through the eyes, so if your eye receives the anointing of the Holy Spirit ,it would be helpful in resisting Sin
•Acts 13:9 But Saul (also called Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him
●Here, we can see that Paul was using his eyes– and the result of this act was that the man who stood against Paul became blind!!
■Here, as Paul looked intently ,his eyes were used by God to bring about God’s purposes
■Mathew 6:22 says:
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
●So if you protect your eyes ,your whole body will shine ,and if your eye is used for the wrong purposes, your body will be filled with darkness.
●Psalms 81:10 Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
•Your voice is also important! God will give an extraordinary power to your voice
•You use your voice to bless
- You use your voice to bind
•You use your voice to loose
●In anything related to earthly government, things are done using writing and written documents
●But in the supernatural you need to SPEAK !!
●So your voice needs power
So : protect your voice and also pray for your voice!
■Revelation Chapter 1:15
and his voice as the sound of many waters. - A Sound similar to a dam bursting and water gushing out !
●In John 11:43
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, aLazarus, come forth
●Here we see that Jesus speaks with a loud voice
●The dead Lazarus was raised by the voice of Jesus.
■1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout
•●That shout is going to raise the dead !
●In the second coming He is going to shout and all the dead will be raised !
■Pray to the Lord to anoint your voice , to make your voice like the voice of Jesus Christ !!
So Eyes are important
Voice is important
and also if you are are child of God you need the power on your ears too
●Psalm 62 :11
God has spoken once,
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God
■Isaiah 50:4-5
given Me
The tongue of the learned,
That I should know how to speak
He awakens My ear
To hear as the learned.
5 The Lord God has opened
my ear.
●When your ears are opened by the power you will hear from God
