Continuing on the Imageries of the Holy Spirit
Imagery – River
●Psalm 46:4 There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God
● Psalm 65:9 The river of God is full of water;
●●Natural rivers start with a drop of water, and as it flows, many drops join with it, and all the drops together form a stream , and many such streams join to form a river
●If it happens so in the natural realm ,it will happen so in the spiritual relam also
● You will experience the river of the Holy Spirit, which will flow through you
●●In the Bible, we see that a river flows from Genisis to Revelation
●Genisis 2:10-14 10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
●Here we see that the river becomes 4 branches.
Each river named here has a meaning
1.Pishon = increase
2.Gihon = bursting fourth
- Hiddekel = Rapid
- Euphrates = fruitfulness
●One river is mentioned at first, but then it becomes 4 parts
●We believe that the garden of Eden mentioned here is paradise
●●The Greek translation uses the word
parádeisos for the garden of Eden
●Also, we see that in the Garden of Eden, there was the ” Tree of Life “
●● Revelation 2 : 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”
●Genisis 2
The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden.
●Revelation 2:7 gives confirmation of this !
●●Garden of Eden can be considered to be the paradise of God
●Now, this paradise is in the Third heaven
●●The Paradise in Revelation 2 becomes the New Jerusalem
●We can say that New Jerusalem is the extended ( renovated) form of Paradise
●Geographically, Garden of Eden is believed to have extended from Iraq to Ethiopia ( Babylon)
●●Adam was the ruler of the garden of Eden
●The four rivers mentioned earlier watered the garden of Eden

●It says here that the gold of that land is good.
●Bdellium and Onyx stone is also said to be there
••So we we find many good things near this river !
●Gold signifies the divinity of God
●●In the New Testament you will carry the presence of God
●Bdellium in Numbers 11:7 it says :
Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium.
● onyx is often associated with strength, self control and stability.
● Onyx can range in colour from white to black
●There are Onyx variations with blue, green, red, gray, gold or brown shades.
●Exodus 25 :7
•Exodus 28:9
Then you shall take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel
•Exodus 25:7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
●●All these precious things appear near the river
●Similarly ,When the Holy Spirit moves in your life, you will have supernatural spiritual blessings

3.Supernatural blessings
●●Revelation 21:20 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone…..
the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx,
**Sardonyx is a kind of Onyx ( in NIV it is mentioned as Onyx itself)
●●When this river was flowing, we find all these precious things near this river
●●in Exodus 17:6
Here, we see that a supernatural river appears when the people were in the wilderness
●About 2 million people were present in the wilderness and had no water
**Here we see that God decides to bless them with water and He provides them with a supernatural source
●Exodus 17 :6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.
●● As seen in 1 Corinthians 10:4 ,this rock was Christ
●The water that came out of the rock was something supernatural
**Here we see that they don’t find any water as there was no natural sources
**The Lord decides to solve their problem of scarcity of water permanently by giving them a supernatural source
●●in 1 Corinthians 10 :14
and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ
●The river flowed from a broken rock and the rock was Christ
●When you are broken , when there is brokenness, that can bless other people
●●In the New Testament we see that a soilder pierces Jesus body when he was hanging on the cross and water flows out from His body.
This first drop of water that flowed out of Him is the first drop of water of the supernatural river !
●●We see in Acts 2 that this became a huge river.
•Exodus 17 the river was always flowing with them
●Numbers 20: 2 Now there was no water for the congregation;
••The river had disappeared!!
●●Reasons for the disappearance
- Unbelief
- Rebellion
●●When the Holy Spirit moves in your life ,you yourself will become a source of this river
●When there is unbelief and rebellion this river disappears
●●Exodus 17 ,
Numbers 20:2 Now there was no water for the congregation;
** Moses disobeyed and struck the rock
**Their rebellion caused the river to disappear
The reason behind the disappearance is rebellion
*The Israelites who were delivered out of Egypt were a rebellious multitude
*They also had a lot of unbelief
*They saw a lot of Miracles but still did not believe
●●If you are not feeling the presence of God for sometime, check to see if you have any unbelief or rebellion in you
●●Repent and experience the continued flow of the Holy Spirit !!!!
