Continuing on the imageries of the Holy Spirit (Oil)
●Oil of fragrance
When you receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit ,it smells sweet
●In Exodus 30:20, we notice that 5 spices are used to make the anointing oil . 5 in bible means grace also refers to the 5-fold ministry!
●Exodus 30:23 speaks about the anointing oil
And you shall make from these a holy anointing oil
•Use of the 5 spices signifies it has a very sweet smell
●●So when the Holy Spirit is in you ,you will smell sweet, and others will know about the anointing in you.
● Psalms 133 speaks of the flow of anointing oil :
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!
- It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,Descending upon the mountains of Zion
●When someone is anointed in the Old Testament, Oil is poured on his head , and from there, the oil flows down to the persons body
●●■ The head represents Christ, and the body represents the church.
The anointing oil flows from the head ,which is Christ to the body , which is the Church !
■John 12 :3 says
And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
**When you are anointed, the house will be filled with the fragrance of the anointing oil
●Then others will come to know of the anointing in you.
■For example: In Arunachal Pradesh ,when the girl who was blind for 18 years, was healed the whole state came to know of the miracle
*Fragrance is a result of the anointing
*When you are anointed, the fragrance will fill the house, and others will come to know of your anointing
●Anointing carries fragrance
- When you are anointed, people will automatically come to know of your ministry
■Oil of power
●The oil has power
**As we all know about, 99 products are produced from crude oil .All these forms carry power.It has the power to run cars and buses
**Examples of other effects of different types of oil on the body
*Coconut oil cools the body
*Mustard oil mildly heats the body
●All types of oil contain power
■Judges 9 Verse 9, 10 The trees once went forth to anoint a king over them.
And they said to the olive tree,‘Reign over us!’
9 But the olive tree said to them,‘Should I cease giving my oil,
With which they honor God and men,And go to sway over trees?’
10 “Then the trees said to the fig tree,‘You come and reign over us!’
11 But the fig tree said to them,‘Should I cease my sweetness and my good fruit,And go to sway over trees?’
●Olive oil was used to honor both God and man
■In the olive oil, there was power
●●Isaiah 10:27 And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.
•■Anointing oil can break yokes
●If there are any yokes cast upon your life ,those yokes will be destroyed by the anointing oil
■In 1 Kings 13, King Jeroboam made 2 calves in Bethel and asked the people to worship them and rejected the true God
●●1 Kings 13:3 about King Jeroboam
he stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, “Arrest him!” Then his hand, which he stretched out toward him, withered, so that he could not pull it back to himself
**This happened because the King acted against the prophet who carried the anointing.
●So when someone comes against you,if you are truly aware of the anointing you carry, no one can harm you.
●●Luke 4 As Jesus was ministering in the synagogue
Luke 4 :28 says :So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff.
**So they took Jesus to the edge of the cliff to cast him down and kill him
●● Then, in verse 30, it says
Then, passing through the midst of them, He went His way
●Jesus passed through the midst of them
●The anointing power on Jesus was released
**All those men were unable to move. They were frozen, and Jesus passed through the midst of them .
No one could harm him
■ So if you are anointed and the oil of anointing is on you , in the anointing , there is power, and no one can harm you
