About the Holy Spirit. ( 2nd September 2023 )
Holy Spirit is a person but does not have a physical body. He is a spiritual person.
Ephesians Chapter 4 Verse 30: And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (He can feel and has emotions)
Acts Chapter 9 Verse 31: And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit (He can comfort)
John 14 Verse 16: word Parakletos is used which means helper, comforter, councillor, advocate, intercessor, strengthener and standby
Romans 8:6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (He is a person, has a mind and can think)
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. So, to transform thought pattern and bring about change in the person one needs the help of the Holy Spirit.
Acts Chapter 16 Chapter 13 Holy Spirit can speak
Personality of the Holy Spirit – He can pray romans 8:26: Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
About Romans -One of the best chapters in the Bible -read it again and again. Some even say that it’s the best chapter.
Two main intercessors 1. Holy Spirit is praying for us on this earth
Another person who intercedes for us, Romans 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Holy Spirit needs your cooperation, and with your cooperation he will help you in prayer.
Holy Spirit intercedes for you and takes the prayer to a different level altogether.
Again, Jesus intercedes for you in heaven, so you cannot fail in your progress in the Christian life, you are actually able to continue due to THEIR intersession.
When the Holy Spirit prays with groaning this in fact is a very unique form of prayer (groaning in the spirit)
In Arunachal Pradesh there was this girl called Nabum Oak, as she became part of the church, she took the name Esther. She started to stay in a building a part of which was the pastors house, and she used to sleep in the part which was the actual church.In the night she would groan. When asked as to why she groaned, she would say that she had no issues or untold sadness, she said that when she prayed, she groaned unintentionally
This groaning in-fact caused the state of the State of Arunachal itself to change. This groaning is actually the groaning of the Holy Spirit. The person who groans does not do this due to any personal issues or sadness.
Jude chapter 1 Verse 20 : But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit
Groaning is a higher level of prayer in the spirit. It can change the atmosphere; it can bring about an open heaven
1 Corinthians 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays — So your spirit can pray !!
The spirit can actually do many things at a time. If you activate the spirit in your life you can do multiple tasks at a point of time.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing —- How can I pray without ceasing? activate your Spirit.
How can you pray without ceasing. keep speaking in other tongues repeatedly while you are doing other things. keep on doing this for months and slowly this will become a 24-hour habit. You cannot speak in tongues without the help of the Holy spirit. Your human spirit is the residence of the Holy Spirit which is the origin of the tongues. When you speak in tongues Your mouth is connected to your spirit bypassing your soul.
The origin of natural languages is the human brain.
When you start speaking in other tongues, the words do not arise from your brain.
1 Corinthians 14 :14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
Paul divides prayer into prayer with the spirit and prayer with the mind 1 Corinthians 14 :15
Keep doing this, continue to keep on praying in tongues and then the spirit will take up the responsibility of continuously praying without the help of the mouth
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing
Continuing on the subject of the personality of the Holy Spirit —-
He can exercise His will 1 Corinthians 12:11 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He wills.
The Holy Spirit is the distributer of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Come to a close relation with the Holy Spirit.
“as He wills”in the verse shows that He has a will of His own . You have to bring your will under the subjection of the Holy Spirit
Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Here the will of the leaders and the will of the Holy Spirit came in agreement. (“it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us”)
If my decision is in agreement with the will of the Holy Spirit ,Its is in-fact the decision of the Holy Spirit and so it definitely will be a correct decision.
When you are in confusion over an issue, for example when deciding about your marriage, ask the Holy Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to exercise His will in the situation and it will definitely turn out to be the correct decision
