The anointing of the Holy Spirit
3.Presence of God
When you are anointed, you are a carrier of the “presence of God “
●Paniym is an Old Testament term used for the presence ,it also means “faces”
•••So when you are experiencing the presence, you are actually seeing his “face” !!
■■Presence also means that the person who has all the power and all the authority is “AVAILABLE ” with you !!!
●●It is HIS this ” AVAILABILITY ” that is called “presence “
••When you look to His face, you will see His Glory
2 Corinthians 4 :6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
■Notice in the last line it says :
“in the face” of Jesus Christ.
●●The presence of God can be divided into 3 :
1.Abiding presence
- Manifesting presence
3 . Transforming presence
1.Abiding presence
●John Chapter 14 to 17 can be called the last discourses of Jesus Christ (Just before Jesus was crucified, He started sharing very serious thoughts with his desiples)
●He taught them about the Holy Spirit
•” He may abide with you,”
*The word ” abide” is used frequently in these Chapters
●●John 14 :23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
●● ” abide with you for ever ” !!
●●When you experience the abiding presence, the presence of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit is in you !!
●●Jesus says, “WE” will come to him and make “OUR” home with him
●●You become His property
●●Remember he bought you !!
••Holy Spirit is the owner now
■■Mathew 28:30 I will be with you till the end of the earth.
●●So there will be a “forever” presence of God
●●You become the temple of the Holy Spirit
■ 1 Corinthians 6:19,20
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore, honour God with your body.
●●So here the ” beliver ” becomes the temple of God !
■1 Corinthians 3:16-17
shows us that the church is a unique body because it is set apart by God to be a display of His character. They’re at Corinth, and he says, “You together, you are God’s temple, and God’s spirit dwells in you,” plural.
■So here the local church becomes the temple of God
●●The abiding presence of God is in the temple
■Ephesians 2: 20-21 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord
●●Here the above verse speaks about the universal Church
●●The universal church is one that cannot be seen ,only the Holy Spirit knows who is part of it , true seekers of God from all denominations and walks of life are part of this church !
■So 1. A beliver is the temple of God
- The local church is the temple of God
3 . Universal Church is the temple of God
■In the Old Testament we see the presence of God appearing in the tabernacle
●●The tabernacle consists of a holy place and a most holy place, in the most holy place is the Ark of the Covenant, and on the top of the ark is the “mercy seat”
It Is on this mercy seat that the presence of God appeared.
●●Exodus 25:8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them
●The tabernacle was the place where the people used to experience the presence of God in the Old Testament.
■■ In the New Testament YOU are the tabernacle and if you trust in God and believe in Jesus Christ, the abiding presence is then in YOU !!
■■Exodus 25:22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony
(●●The presence of God would appear on the mercy seat which is placed in between the two cherubim)
■■ 2 Samuel 6:11 And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed Obededom, and all his household
●So the Lord blessed Obed Edom and all his household, because they were in the presence of God , due to the ark being there in their home !
**Where there is the presence of God there will be victory
*The Israelites had victory over the philastines because the presence that went with the Ark, but once the Philistines captured the ark
■The presence is the source of:
•Blessing
•Victory
•Prosperity
•Healing
■■Also we are not just receivers of Blessings, Victory, prosperity and healing we are also “CARRIERS ” of the presence of God and so we release blessings to others !!!
■■So we also become the ” SOURCE ” of all these good things !!
●●You become a source of blessing !!
■Exodus Chap 33:12
And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me.
●Here Moses asks God how he would lead two million people, who God would send with him
■■God replies in Verse 14
And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
●The “Presence ” enabled Moses to lead the two million people !!
■■So if you carry the presence of God you can definitely lead multitudes like Moses did !!
●●●Don’t think small, Great things are going to happen when you carry the presence of God !!!
