Outcomes of the Anointing
1st Outcome – People who are anointed have a mark of God on them
●1 Samuel 24:6 And he said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.”
●David identifies Saul as God’s anointed – There was a mark of God on Saul
●Gifts and calling are irrevocable
●The most well-known passage may be the one in which David, pressured by his men to seize the opportunity to kill Saul in the cavern, answered: “The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, the LORD’s anointed, to put out my hand against him [Saul], seeing he is the LORD’s anointed” (1 Sam. 24:6).
●2nd outcome of the anointing is protection,
•Psalms 105:13-15
He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, 15 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”
●When the anointed ones are in difficulty, they will be protected by God
●So, if you are anointed, you are protected !
■3rd Outcome
Separation: God will separate you and place you in a higher place.
●Psalms 89:20
I have found David my servant; With my holy oil have I anointed him: With whom my hand shall be established: Mine arm also shall strengthen him
■4th Outcome: Spiritual Illumination
●1 John Chap 2:20
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
●So, in your spirit, you know all things
●When you speak in tounges ,you are, in fact, bringing that knowledge to your memory (mind)
●Holy Spirit will become your teacher !!
■5th Outcome: Fragrance
Psalms 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,
●The fragrance will spread, and others too will come to know that you carry the anointing of the Holy Spirit !
■6th Outcome: Joy !
Psalms 45 :7
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;
■7th Outcome: Service
●Anointing will enable you to serve others
David was anointed 3 times.
Triple Anointing:
1Samuel 16:13 1st Anointing
2 Samuel 2 :4 2nd anointing
2 Samuel 5:1-3 3rd Anointing
●God can anoint you when you move to a higher responsibility
●Fresh anointing can fall on you
●Why did God anoint David?
To serve the people !!
●When you receive fresh anointing, you will start serving
■8th Outcome :- Moving to a higher realm of the Spirit
●You will move from the natural to the realm of the Holy Spirit
●Realm can be said to be:
- Territory of Influence
•Domain of activity
•Kingdom of Influence
Kingdom (King dominated place)
•You move from an earthly realm to the realm of the Holy Spirit. There the worship of God happens continuously
●Provisions of God are always present there
●Portals of glory are accessible there
●●They include:
•Portals of Revival
•Portals of healing
●Anointed people will live in the realm of the Holy Spirit
●They will be connected with the Holy Spirit
●Portals will always be open to them
■Romans 8 (This chapter is also called chapter of the Holy Spirit)
Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
■Holy Spirit dwells in you
●When you are in the realm of the Holy Spirit– you will be pregnant with your spiritual destiny
●After that the next stage would be that you would start delivering your destiny!
●Delivery will infact happen every day
●You will become a : - glory bearer
- healing bearer
- resurrection bearer
- revival bearer (revival carrier)
■ IMAGERIES of the Holy Spirit
●Bible uses imegeries
They may be totally different from the earthly version, these are just used for our understanding
.Example: Relstionship between a Bride and bridegroom
Close relationship with Jesus Christ is described using the marriage relationship between a husband and wife on earth, this is just an imagery as there is actually a vast difference between the two !
••●From Genisis Chap 1:2 to Revelation 19:10 , 87 imageries are used in the Bible
●●We will pick 7 of those imageries that refer to the Holy Spirit for our study :
The 7 imageries used are:
1.Wine
2.Oil
3.River
4.Wind
5.Fire
6.Rain
7.Dove
1.Wine : Ephesians 5:18
**The works of the Holy Spirit is compared with what wine does!
Various comparisons can be seen.
●Wine represents being influenced
•A person who drinks wine will be influenced by the wine !
•He would say and do things which he would not otherwise ordinarily do
●We are called to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit
●Striking symbols used to describe Influence of wine are:
- Refreshing
- Gladening
- Stimulating
■Similarly Holy Spirit will
1.Refesh you - Stimulate you to move higher and closer to God
3.Gladen your heart
●Psalms 104: 15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man
● Ecclesiastes 10: 19 A feast is made for laughter, wine makes life merry
•So wine makes one merry
●Similarly when the Holy Spirit comes into your life, there will be celebration
●Esther 1:7
●In Esther 1:1 we see that India is mentioned, of all the nations of the earth only very few are actually mentioned in the Bible!!
..Many like Amalek and Midian have disappeared
■Esther 1:7 And they served drinks in golden vessels, each vessel being different from the other, with royal wine in abundance, according to the generosity of the king. In accordance with the law, the drinking was not compulsory; for so the king had ordered all the officers of his household, that they should do according to each man’s pleasure.
From the above verse :
●Each vessel being different from the other
•So men of God each have different talents
•So the way the Holy Spirit works in one person is different from how He works in another
•This is because each vessel is different !
●The verse 7 says royal wine was available in abundance
●Drinking it was not compulsory
●The ones who are thirsty drink lavishly
●So it depends on what decision the person concerned makes
●Just like each vessel is different, you too are different from others ! and in the Kingdom of God, royal wine is available in abundance
■Holy Spirit is a Gentleman
–He will never compel !
— He will never control !
As opposed to the Holy Spirit,
Evil Spirit(Devil) will compel
Evil Spirit will control
●So when a person permits the Holy Spirit to work in his life , then only will the Holy Spirit work in that particular person’s life
●So our permission is important to the Holy Spirit
●Holy Spirit will work only when you permit Him to work in your life
■So just like an airplane needs a runway to land , Electricity needs a copper wire to pass ,Holy Spirit needs a willing heart !!!
