Gift of Working of Miracles
●Definition of a miracle
Is a supernatural intervention by God in the ordinary course of nature.
● Gift of Miracles
Involves the Spirit given power to perform an act contrary to or superadded to natural laws.
●A miracle is God stepping into his universe, setting aside the ordinary laws of nature to do something extraordinary.
●The Creator has set laws in motion by which he operates the world 🌎 ,but on occasions, he has intervened to override these laws to serve His purpose.
Examples are the virgin birth and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
●A miracle is actually a supernatural act in the natural realm.
●A supernatural act that acts in the spiritual realm is not a miracle
●A miracle can be called one only when it occurs (acts) in the natural realm.
●When the birth of a child occurs in the natural realm, it can not be called a miracle because it is a natural act occurring in the natural realm .
●A supernatural act when it occurs in the natural realm is called a miracle.
●The gift of miracles is different from healing miracles.
●A miracle is, therefore, a supernatural intervention in the ordinary course of nature, a temporary suspension of the accustomed order ,or an interruption in the system of nature as we know it ,operated by the power of the Holy Spirit.
●Simply put:
A supernatural act by the Holy Spirit is a miracle.
Example: Moses dividing the Red Sea in Exodus 14
In Exodus 7:7-12, the rod of Moses becomes a serpent 🐍, which is a miracle.
●In 1 Kings 17:8-16
For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ”
15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.
●She found flour in the bin and oil in the jar every day, and it never ran out, which is a miracle.
●Isaiah 38:1-8 we see that the sun went back 10 steps
Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.” So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.
●Joshua 10
Making the sun and the moon stand still for a full day.
he said in the sight of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.
Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.
●John 6:5-14 Jesus multiplied 5 loves and 2 fish to feed 5000 people.
●John 2 Jesus turned water into wine 🍷
●Such miracles happen in our times, too . There are numerous examples for this
● 2 Corinthians 12:12 says
Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.
● Wonder is something that is observable by others at the moment of occurrence and creates a feeling of awe ,making people wonder.
●Acts 13:12
Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had been done, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.
● Signs accompany a servent of the Lord to authenticate the divine commission.
●It authenticates the doer of the miracle as a divinely commissioned servant of the Lord
●His message is validated,he was speaking for God, and he should be heard and heeded .
Another example of miracle ,
Jesus walking on water
This happened in the natural, the law of nature was suspended for a short time by a supernatural act of the Holy Spirit.
●
● When the Gift of Miracles is in manifestation through a beliver, he participates in the same power of God ,which was in manifestation at the time when God created the world 🌎
●When the Lord permits a person to speak a word and a miracle occurs, the same God who created the world is allowing some of his omnipotence to manifest through that person.
●If the natural law is hindering you ,with the gift of miracle, perform a miracle , a supernatural act will occur for you in the natural realm.
