Diverse kinds of tounges
● Acts Chapter 2 records the 1st time people started speaking in other tounges .
●Mark 16:17 says
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.
●This verse is infact the first mention of the gift of Tounges in the New Testament.
●Acts 2 mentions the 1st time people actually spoke in other tounges
●Acts 2:4 mentions
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
●Tounges are also referenced in the Old Testament in Isaiah 28, which is the only mention about it in the Old Testament .
●Isaiah 28:10-12 reads
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
●This verse also mentions the benefits of speaking in tounges
To whom He said, “This is the rest with which
You may cause the weary to rest,”
And, “This is the refreshing”;
●The benefits include receiving rest in one’s soul, and also, he will be refreshed!
●Genisis 11 reads:
11 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech.
●Before the flood ,there was only one language , and this was so until the events that occurred at the tower of Babel.
●One thing we have to realize is that events in the book of Genisis are not written according to chronological order.
●Genisis 10:5 reads
From these the coastland peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language , according to their families, into their nations.
●Theologians believe in the existence of only one language before the flood and a change in this after the events at the Tower of Babel .
●Genisis 11 says
11 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
●We see that the root cause of the decision to build this tower was ” pride”
●Here in Genisis 11, this is the dispensation of human government.
●When Adam and Eve was in the Garden of Eden, it can be called as the dispensation of Innocence
●Dispensation means:
The method or scheme according to which God carries out his purposes towards men .
●When God sends Adam and Eve out of the garden after they ate from the tree 🌳 of life ,there started the dispensation of conscience .
●The 7 dispensations according to the Bible are :

  1. Innocence
  2. Conscience
  3. Human Government
  4. Promise
  5. Law
  6. Grace
  7. Kingdom
    ● Genisis 11:5
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
●This verse reveals a principle, which is that when there is unity among people, then there is nothing that is impossible for them.
●So the Lord went down and confused their language.
●This language confusion marks the beginning of racial, cultural, ethnic and familial diversity.
●Even the appearance of one’s face is influenced by their native language.
●One’s mother tongue can influence his or her face.
●The facial appearances and expressions of a diverse group is influenced by muscles that move in a similar way when they speak a common language.
●Almost all the Indian states are formed based on the different languages the inhabitants speak.
●With this language diversity came racial division
●How could this division among mankind be restored?
    ●In Genisis 3:15, God promises a Messiah
●in Genisis 12:3, it mentions that in Jesus Christ all the families shall become one.
    “all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.”
    ●in Genisis 22:15-18 says
in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.
    ●Here, God promises unity .
He will bring unity through Jesus Christ.
●All the disunity shall end through Jesus Christ.
●All will speak the same language, and all will worship together in one language ,the language of the Holy Spirit.
    ●Revelation 12:8-14

●All the people shall by the blood of Jesus ,have one language and will again reign on this earth.
●This began on the day of Pentecost, where 15 language groups joined together, and each of them could hear what the people gathered inside were speaking in their own language.
●The languages were again united (healed)on the Day of Pentecost .
●As we speak in other tounges, we become under one banner called Jesus Christ
