Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Word of Wisdom
●1 Corinthians 12 :7
for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit
●The verse talks about 2 gifts the Word of Wisdom and the Word of knowledge.
Different gifts 🎁 can function together .
●1 Corinthians 12:10
to another prophecy
● The Word of knowledge and the Word of wisdom can function together, similarly the word of wisdom and the gift of prophesy can operate together.
●God will not use everyone the same way .
● 1 Corinthians 12:11 speaks about the distribution of the gifts of the Holy Spirit
● Corinthians 12 :11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
● So, who is the distributor of the Gifts 🎁 of the Spirit , It’s the Holy Spirit Himself !
●Notice the phrase as He wills ( The He is in capitals and refers to the Holy Spirit)
●You are different
●The way the gifts operate in another person may be different from the way gifts operate in you.
●God does not use everyone the same way .
●Ephesians 1:17 says
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
●Both ” Spirit of Wisdom ” and ” Word of Wisdom ” ,they look similar, but as they are mentioned separately in the verse ,they aught to be indeed different.
●Word of Wisdom is not the same as Gift of Wisdom
And also the Word of wisdom is not the word of knowledge.
●It’s God who has all wisdom and all knowledge
●He reveals only a part of it to man at a given time
●There is wisdom imparted to overcome a particular issue and wisdom for our daily affairs
● Wisdom for daily affairs is mentioned in Joshua 1: 8
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
● In general Solomon is considered to be the wisest man who ever lived, but in practical life , Daniel can be considered to be the wisest.
● Solomon could not apply his immense wisdom in his practical life towards the end of his life, we notice that Solomon was not loyal to God in his last days.We see that his heart turned to the god of his wifes .
●While Daniel remained the wisest all through his life and maintained his relationship with God till his last days.
●Solomon received general wisdom to deal with the affairs of life .
●This wisdom is mentioned in James 1:5
●James 1:5 says, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
●God has promised that this wisdom (called General Wisdom ) will be available to anyone who will ask for it.
● Word of Wisdom is revealed when God feels it fit to reveal his own mind , and purpose , and plan to a man in a supernatural way, and he does this by a supernatural manifestation of the Word of Wisdom
●Word of wisdom can also be used for problem solving.
●Word of wisdom deals with your future.
●Word of wisdom is a supernatural revelation
by the Spirit of God concerning His divine purpose
●Difference between Word of Knowledge and Word of Wisdom.
●Word of Knowledge brings revelation regarding something in the past
●Word of Wisdom brings revelation regarding something in the future
● 1 Kings 3:16-28 Shows King Solomon using the word of wisdom to solve a problem that was presented in front of him .
●So word of wisdom can be used effectively for problem solving
