Fire of the Holy Spirit
7 types of fires 🔥 in the Word of God
●Judges 15:4 Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails
The Ministry of Samson was one that was truly unique .
●His birth was unique
●His mother was barren for many years
●Samson becomes a judge
●He always stood alone .
●He was different from the other judges
●He fought the battles of the Lord alone.
●He was a Nazerite , he never drank alcohol
●He was a deciplined person from his childhood
●Had uncut hair .
●When the 3rd person of the God head came upon him, he experienced extraordinary strength
●Judges 16:3 And Samson lay low till midnight; then he arose at midnight, took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two gateposts, pulled them up, bar and all, put them on his shoulders, and carried them to the top of the hill that faces Hebron.
●This shows that Samson experienced extraordinary strength in his body.
●Judges 15:4
Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails. 5 When he had set the torches on fire, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up both the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the vineyards and olive groves.
●The fact that he caught 300 foxes shows supernatural strength
●The fire 🔥 burning on their tails caused the foxes to run into the fields and destroy the grain fields and vineyards of the Philastines
●These are the days of Revival – God is going to make you reach people with the 🔥 fire of the gospel on your tails .You will preach the Gospel without fear ,
●In 2 Timothy 4:5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
●Also, here we notice the word “evangelist” is used .
This word “evangelist” is used in only 3 verses in the Bible.
●They are Acts 21:8 , Ephesians 4:11 and 2 Timoty 4:5
●Note that the word “pastor” comes only once in the Bible , in Ephesians 4:11
While the words Apostle and prophet are used many times.
●When you are faithful to share the Gospel with few,God will give you opportunities to share the Word of God with huge gatherings.
●Fire speaks about
•God’s Glory
•God’s Purity
•God’s presence
•God’s passion
●We have to be passionate about Jesus Christ.
●All belivers are, in fact, evangelists
Second Fire 🔥 The Fire of Commission
Jesus Christ in Mathew 28:9 commissions his disciples
Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
●Here, Jesus authorized his disciples to preach the Gospel
●God infact gives you an assignment
•In Exodus God ordained Moses with a purpose to save His people from slavery
●We see that until the age of 80, he couldn’t fulfill his purpose
●In Exodus chapter 3 ,when Moses sees Fire 🔥 on a thorny bush ,God reconfirmed that there is a call on his life ,which is to save the Israielites from slavery
●So why did God call Moses ?
●In Exodus 3:7 God says
7 And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. 8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land
●A group of badly oppressed people were crying to God, and in order to save those people, God called Moses and made him a deliverer
●So why did God call you for evangelism?
●There are some people who are crying to God to save them.
●Your call is an answer to their cry.
●Moses was called by God because the children of Israel cried to the Lord in Exodus 2:23
Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. 24 So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.
●An assignment of this sort from the Lord is the greatest assignment a person can receive on this Earth.
●Your assignment is greater and more highly valued than all other earthly responsibilities and assignments
●When Moses was called by God
•Moses said many excuses
•He says ” Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh
•He felt he had no ability
•He felt he was good for nothing
●But God tells Moses in Exodus 3 :12
He said, “But I will be with you , and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you
●God tells Moses that He will be with Moses
●(My presence shall go with you)
●If you are called by God then,You become a need for God
●He will come after you
●He says, ” My presence shall go with you “
The second excuse that Moses makes to God
●Moses asks God, “Who are you ?””What is your name?”
●Here ,we see that Moses goes through an identity crisis
●Many people are like Moses
●They don’t know who they are.
●Don’t know what is their purpose on this earth.
●They have no idea about their future
●Don’t know where they are heading
●The answer to all this is what God says,” Know Me.”
●The answer is to ” Know
God”
●Here, we see that it’s in the encounter with Moses that God’s name is revealed as ” Jehova” , ” self existent God”
●God revealed Himself to Abraham as ” El Shaddai “
●It was the first time God revealed his name to someone
