Continuing on the imageries of the Holy Spirit
Imagery: Fire
Fire 🔥 of Holiness
●Daniel 7:9 9 “I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire
Here God the Father is called “Ancient of Days”
●Meaning that for God,there is no beginning, God is there forever .
●Also, we notice that “thrones ” plural is used here
●His garment is said to be “white ” as snow
●His garment represents holiness
●He wears glory
●His throne is made of fiery flames ,which infact implies it’s made of holiness
■Psalms 22:3 But You are holy,Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
●So how can you make a throne for God?
Your praises will make a throne for Him !
●When you praise Him ,you will experience His abiding presence
●The throne of God in Heaven is made of holiness.
●In Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
•” Who is ,who was a ,and who is to come shows past ,present, and future .
●God lives in Holiness
●In the Old Testament ,His Holiness is explained in the book of Leviticus
●As God is holy , he commands us too to be holy
■Leviticus 11:44 For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. 45 For I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
●In the Old Testament ,the phrase “you shall be Holy for I am Holy” is repeated many times.
●1 Peter 1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
●Verse 15
but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct , 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
●Daniel 7:9 Speaks about the throne of God
•Fire is usually used to represent glory,holiness, and Judgement.Here it’s used to represent holiness
●The fire 🔥 burns away the chaff
●As you come closer to the throne of God ,all unnecessary things in your life will be burned to chaff by this firery stream ,that originates from the Throne .
●In Hebrew, the word “Qadosh” is used for holy
●It is used to mean, holy one,saint,set apart( not conforming to the ways of the word.
●Also, Hagios , is the Greek word for holiness .
●it also means morally blameless,pure,Holy one, ceremoniously blameless .
● Justification- God is making you like ‘just as you never sinned.’
● Sanctification is a continuing process.
●It helps one lead a life of righteous consciousness
●Sanctification is progressive ,and it happens in your soul. .
●Sanctification in your Spirit occurred on the day you were born again by the blood of Jesus. (Hebrews 13:12)
●The second part of Sanctification is
a progressive one in the realm of your soul.
●This sanctification is through the Word of God
●The word of God has the power to sanctify you !
●Titus 3:4,5 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.
●James 1:20,21Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
●The Word of God can remove wickedness and filthiness and make you meek.
●Verse 22 says But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.””
●The Word will be implanted in you, and then the Word will transform you
●The word can make you new.
●●When you receive the fire 🔥 of holiness ,it will help you lead a holy life on this Earth.
